Creative Chemistry day 3

The next projects in Creative Chemistry class are all using alcohol inks. I bought my first bottles of alcohol ink after seeing some awesome work of art out there, so inspired, but I have to admit me and alcohol ink aren't the best of friends. I just can't seem to make magic happen.
I have to admit though, that this class gave me the boost to try once more, and I am quite happy with the result:

I am also entering the top card with the Silhouette Corner (H5011), and the bottom card with the Classic Tea Flower (H5577) into this month's Hero Arts contest.

Have a great weekend!

Creative Chemistry day 2

OK, so I'm behind on my homework! I'm loving Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry class, but as always I find myself short of time to try out everything we learn in class. Well, I'll just have to do my best!

Here's my first card, with the "blend it spritz and flick-"technique:

I applied Distress Inks Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey, and Gathered Twigs with an ink applicator, spritzed water into my hand, and flicked onto the panel. So cool when it dries! After the background was dry I stamped the Fabulous Flourish (S5449) from Hero Arts - truly a fabulous stamp!

Next up is "brushless watercolor":

I inked up the row of butterflies and moths from the Stampers Anonymous set Papillian, using Distress Inks Seedless Preserves, Ripe Persimmon, Festive Berries, and Wild Honey, tapping the inkpad randomly on the stamp, spritz with water, and stamp onto watercolor paper. This is actually the second generation of the print - I messed up the first one when distressing the edges... Ouch!
The orange background is a piece of watercolor paper with Ripe Persimmon appied direct to paper. I removed some of the color with a background stamp stamped with Versamark and spritzed with water, but unfortunately it doesn't show up very well in the photo..

So, that was it for day 2, I'm working on the projects for day 3, so I'll be back!

Thanks for stopping by, and for your kind comments, they do mean so much!

Just Sharing

Just popping in today to share a couple of design team projects I've done for Kreative Fornemmelser:

Color pencils on kraft is just so beautiful, and in this card I've used my very neglected stamp Butterfly Flowers (H5489) from Hero Arts.. Honestly, I don't know why I don't pull it out of my stash more often, it is so playful and gorgeous!

Next up is quite a different technique: I've embossed three of the flowers from the 4 Fun Flowers set (CG278), and colored with Cipics. The Copics don't blend on embossed areas like they do on paper, but nevertheless I thought the effect was kind of cool, and something different from the reguløar coloring. I do love it when I find new ways to use my inks and markers!

On my last card I've made a background using Distress Inks Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire. The lightest color is applied inkpad direct to paper, and the darkest just lightly tapped with a sponge. The image is Elegant Weeds (CG185) from HA.

That was it for today, thanks for stopping by!

New Tiffany Doodles releases, and more!

New images are released at Tiffany Doodles this coming week, and one of the sneak peeks on the blog is one of my cards:

Wouldn't you just love to cuddle one of these?? Looks sooo soft!
Tiffany also have a HUGE give-away this month, it's really worth checking out! You can read more about it here.

I would also like to share some design team cards I've made for Kreative Fornemmelser lately.
First is a card with the theme "spring":

On this card I've used my Memento markers to color the Newspaper Tulips (K5576) stamp (colors Lady Bug, Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Bamboo Leaves, and Pear Tart), spritzed with water, and stamped onto watercolored paper.

Next up, the design team was to choose their "all time favorite" stamp, and for me that has to be the Silhouette Grass (S5316), Hero Arts of course!

On this card I've clear embossed the image on watercolor paper, then added Distress Inks Wild Honey and Tumbled Glass. Spritzed quite heavily with a mix of water and Perfect Pearls. I love how the inks mix, you get a diferent look every time, totally unexpected!

On my last card I've stamped the image using Distress Ink Gathered Twig (from the fall limited edition-set). I thoght teh color was a little to light, so I added  some darker shades with adark brown marker.

The colors on the background are Distress Inks Tumbled Glass, Crushed Olive, and Gathered Twigs.

So what are you up to today? Me, I'll be biking with my family. The snow is all gone (record breaking early!), so we are all set!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great Sunday!

Failed technique-attempt

I was able to squeze in another card for the first part of the Hero Arts March contest, ending tonight. I had a go at the velveteen technique, but with no luck... Maybe the Old Letter Writing stamp wasn't the right choice for the background, or maybe I did something else wrong, but the card still has flowers on it, so I'm entering it anyway!

The Large Bold Flower was stamped using Hero Arts Shadow Ink, Soft Pool, and the new mid-tone ink, Pool. The yellow flowers were inked up using Distress Ink Mustard Seed, and spritzed with Perfect Pearls Mist, to make the flower shine, and make the colors bleed.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you next time!

Not one, but two..

...cards for this month's Hero Arts' contest!
One of the requirements is to use flowers on our projects, not too difficult!
The first card is super simple: simple stamping with black ink onto kraft cardstock, adding some white highlights, gems, and ribbon. Voila! The stamp is the new Wild Flower Label (K5583). I couldn't find a sentiment to fit inside the label, so I decided to over the label instead:

On my next card I used the gorgeous Classic Tea Flower (H5577) as my main focal point, and an old favorite, the Heart Flourish (K5153) for the background:

The background panel is stamped using Distress Ink Wild Honey, and distressed with the same ink. On the flower I've used Distress Inks Wild Honey, Victorian Velvet, and Peeled Paint. The flower is mounted with pop-dots for dimention.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

challenge entry!

Hey there,
I just couldn't resist this week's color challenge on the Play date Cafe blog, there's just something about YELLOW when spring is approaching!

The grey was a challenge, since I don't own any grey inks (!), but that was solved by scribbling Memento Marker London Fog onto the background stamp. A couple of spritzes of water+Perfect Pearls, then stamp onto watercolor paper. Turned out just the way I wanted - yay! The yellow paper is Daffodil from the Hero Hues-line, distressed with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful Sunday!
