Just in time...

...for this month's Hero Arts challenge (and 2nd post for today - wow)!
I chose the window theme for my card, and knew from the start I wanted to keep it clean and simple. I wanted to try out my new violet Copics, a birthday present from my sweet friend Hilde (THANK YOU!), and so I colored the Tiffany Doodle image Little Rose.
The card base was stamped using the Hero Arts Friends Definition background with Distress Ink Pumice Stone, and the edges distressed with the same ink. Die cut a circle window with Spellbinders die, stamped the sentiment inside the card, and added som purple pearls. And voila!
So, for the first time in ages, I am entering the Hero Arts challenge again - feels so good!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

I got myself some more markers!

Yeah! I loved the techniques using markers that Jennifer shared with us during Inspiration Showcase (loved everything else about that class too, of course!), and I had to order some more, as I only had a few to begin with. The last card I made I scribbled the markers directly onto the stamp (awesome shades from just one color!!), this time I tried painting with the markers:
I clear embossed the Hero Arts Ruffled Flower on watercolor paper. To make the marker (Memento Marker Lilac Posies) into "paint" I scribbled it onto an acrylic block, added some Liquid Pearls for shine, then spritzed water onto it, and mixed. Then paint away!

And guess what, since the deadline over on the Lily Pad Sketch Challenge was extended I can enter this card into their challenge! Yay! I love their challenges, but something always seem to get in the way of participating, so this is a happy day!

Happy Thursday, everyone!

more Inspiration Showcase...in one day!

I can't believe it, this is the first time I've done two posts in one day - and all thanks to the Inspiration Showcase! I watched today's video, and went running to my craft room:
I inked up my Classic Evergreen with a green marker, and spritzed with a mix of water and Perfect Pearls, then stamped on watercolor paper. The tree to the right is the second generation stamping.
The craft cardbase was stamped by inking up the Designer Woodgrain (S5208) with Pumice Stone Distress Ink, also spritzed with some water+PP. The "snow" is small dots of White Opal Liquid Pearls.
Thanks for stopping by!

Talk about inspiration!

I have been following Jennifer McGuire's online-class Inspiration Showcase this week, and WOW! Where to begin??? I'm glad we have access to these classes even after they're finished, because I'd like to play with each and every one of the techniques she's sharing, and my day just don't have enough hours! How about yours? LOL!
The first day of class the theme was resist, and I made this card:
I managed to use TWO of my new Hero Arts christmas stamps (and made my first christmas card this year!), the Merry Background (S55361), and Classic Evergreen (K5515).
The Classic Evergreen was stamped with Versamark ink on glossy cardstock, dried, and then adding Distress Ink Victorian Velvet to the entire piece, making the evergreen POP! The background was stamped using HA chalk ink Latte on Latte cardstock.
Unfortunately this has been a very buzy week for me, so I haven't been able to play along between Monday and today, but now I'm off to my craft room. See you later, I have no time to waste!

I chose the Seagull image to work with. I had an idea in my head from the minute I saw this image, and the card worked out almost exactly the way I had imagined! I don't know about you, but that doesn't happen to me "all the time", LOL!
The background is created using "block stamping". Simply take an acrylic block, ink with the desired Distress Ink colors (I used Faded Jeans, Broken China, and Tumbled Glass), spritz with water, and press onto your cardstock. I prefer watercolor paper for this technique.
And check out those leaves! They are Tiffany Doodles images, I just printed onto paper, cut out, and covered with Glossy Accent, and I just LOVE the result!

    Preparing for blog-hop!

We are right in the middle of a huge, 3-day, blog-hop over on the Tiffany Doodles blog,  lots and lots of prizes, so be sure to check it out!
I will be a part of the hop tomorrow, so please do come visiting again then, but in the meantime I'm sharing some projects I've done for Kreative Fornemmelser design team:
Using alcohol ink on gloss cardstock, and the Lauderdale Sunshine (CL512) from Hero Arts.

I just love the big lotus from The Lotus Leaves (CL542) from Hero Arts! This time they are stamped using Distress Stain Wild Honey, spritzed with water for a watercolor look.
Before our summer vacation I made these books for my kids, so they could write about some of the things we would experience, sort of keeping a diary. I've used the Lauderdale Sunshine set from Hero Arts (again...).
I can see so many ways to use this alphabet stamp from Hero Arts and Studio Calico (ST501)! This time I only did simple stamping, and some dirstressing, but I'm sure you'll see this stamp in use again soon!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the Tiffany Doodles blog-hop!
In the meantime: have a great Saturday!

    Tiffany Doodle Two Week Challenge!

    Hi there,
today a new two week challenge starts over on the Tiffany Doodle blog, come on over and join the fun!

And here's my card for the challenge:
I used the Poppy Digital Stamp Set on this card, colored with Copics, and highligted with a white gel pen. There are so many images in this set, such good value! I made another card using the same set, here.
