quiet, quiet

Hi there!
This card has been sitting quietly in my computer for ages - not uttering a word! It's actually a card I made for the Hero Arts October challenge (using  a non christmas stamp on a christmas card), how's that for LATE?
I completely forgot to share it, and not to mention: entering it into the challenge! Oh well, no harm done, but here it is anyway:
I stamped the Elegant Brocade (F5243) from Hero Arts with soft pool shadow ink, and highlighted using colored pencils. Here's a close-up:

Pink Christmas

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I just LOVE non-traditional colors for my christmas cards, and today's card is no exception:
Hero Arts' Classic Evergreen (K5515) is stamped using Memento Marker Lilac Posies. I covered the stamp completely with the marker, then spritzed water/Perfect Pearls onto it, and stamped on some Hero Hues Snow cardstock. The Old Letter Writing (S4878) stamp was partially inked up with Distress Ink Pumice Stone, and stamped on top of the tree image once completely dry. Also distressed the edges with the same ink. The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye  series "Stella & Rose" (thanks, Clare!). Look closely, do you spot the Merry Background on this card too? LOL!
Last, but not least, I blinged up the tree with some gems, and that means I'm entering it in Hero Arts' monthly contest!

more christmas cards

Sadly the Holiday Card Boot Camp is  coming to an end, I wish I could attend class every day with these talented ladies! Of course, having the time to join in more than I have been able to lately would have been nice... Here's a card I made after watching Kristina Werner's video in Friday's class:
CAS, big time! But it's a genious design for making multiple cards, and I really, really loved it!
A quick post tonight, so much to do, and so little time!

Merry Background

Seriously, I'm thinking maybe all my christmas cards will end up having the Merry Background (S5531) from Hero Arts on them! Here's two more:

I got myself some new color pencils, Art GRIP from Faber Castell, and was eager to try them out. The first card is just regular coloring, the colors really blends well, and I love the way the different shades play with each other and gives the image life! On the second card I stamped the Classic Evergreen (K5515) from Hero Arts in a very light ink, and used my color pencils to add different shades to the tree. The effect was amazing, it looks like a hand-drawn tree!

Both cards have been featured on Kreative Fornemmelser's blog, as part of my DT assignment.

Sparkle challenge at Tiffany Doodles!

Today, a new two-week challenge is up at the Tiffany Doodles blog, the theme this time is bling and sparkle - love that!

And here's my card:

homework :o)

Finally, the Holiday Card Boot Camp has started, and I'm in the classroom! I am expecting a lot of FUN and inspiration the next two weeks, and after the first two days I'm NOT disappointed!
One of the things we learned in class today was to make folded trees, aren't they cute??
They are made out of half circles, and they are the quickest thing to make using double sided patterned paper. BUT you know me, I love my stamps, and so these are stamped using the oh so versatile Envelope Pattern (S5507) from Hero Arts! On one side I've used Distress Ink Broken China, and on the other Shabby Shutters. And, what do you know - the background is Merry Background (S5531) from Hero Arts (again)!
I've "blinged it up" with some stars, so I'm entering it in this month's Hero Arts contest. One of the trees is "over the edge" too, and so I thought it was about time I entered the CAS-ual Friday's challenge again, CFC27:

Have a great day!
